In 2024, the hotel industry in Switzerland recorded 42.8 million overnight stays, an increase of 2.6% (+1.0 million) compared with 2023. Tourism has recovered from the pandemic and overnight stays again exceeded the pre-covid figures. Tourism has fully recovered from the pandemic and the number of overnight stays even exceeds the pre-corona figures.

Zurich

With its aprox. 450,000 inhabitants, Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland, although by European standards it is quite small. Zurich, however, can keep up with the retail likes of London and Paris when it comes to luxury fashion and of course watches and jewelry. Zurich is one of the most expensive cities in Europe. Geneva
